The CPMS Round of the Scripps National Spelling Bee was held yesterday in the library.  22 students competed through 6 rounds of spelling before our champion was named.

This year’s champion is once again 7th grader, Eshan Bharadwaj, winning for the second year in a row.

Placing second was 6th grader, Siena Gutschow, and third place went to 7th grader Gautham Saravanan.

The spellers breezed through words such as: sparsely, administration, chesapeake, exasperation, and fluorescent, before the winning word - conundrum.

Bharadwaj will now compete at the regional level in February, with a chance to move on to the state level and then the national contest in Washington, DC.

Congratulations spellers, and good luck to our champion!
